The second chapter of our book takes us to the enchanting island of Puerto Rico. Rich with history and culture, it is a wonderful backdrop for our lessons. We will continue our conversations in Spanish, learn how to describe people using the verb ser and learn singular and plural forms of common nouns in Spanish.

Our last chapter in the first semester takes us to our home state, Texas. We will learn a little about the Hispanic influence in Texas as well as discuss things we like to do for fun. Students will learn how to conjugate regular -ar verbs, the verbs ir and querer, and also be able to discuss the weather.

When we pick back up in the second semester, we will head to another beautiful country known for its immense biodiversity, Costa Rica. We will learn how to talk about our classes, school supplies and other school related items. We will continue conjugating verbs by learning regular -er and -ir forms. We will also learn the ir a structure to talk about future activities.

Our final chapter of the 7th grade book will take us to the uniquely shaped South American country of Chile. In this final unit we will discuss families, tell about our family trees, describe our family members and continue conjugating verbs. We will learn new irregular verbs and verbs with spelling changes in the present tense.
