Etapa Preliminar
		Día a día
		In this review unit we will review much of the material from the Spanish I course. Our focus will be regaining the basics from last year and reinforcing the main skills such as conversation and listening. We will review: how to exchange greetings, discuss likes and dislikes, describe people and places, ask for and give information, talk about school life, and talk about the new school year.

Unidad 1 Estados Unidos
		¿Qué pasa?
		In this unit we will visit Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami. In Los Angeles we will: talk about where we went and what we did, discuss leisure time, and comment on airplant travel. In Chicago we will: comment on food, talk about the past, express activity preferences, and discuss fine art. Finally, in Miami we will: dicuss ways to communicate, react to news, ask for and give information, talk about things and people we know.

Unidad 2 Ciudad de México
		Ayer y hoy
		In this unit we will visit Mexico City. In the first etapa we will: describe childhood experiences, express personal reactions, and discuss family relationships. In the second etapa we will: narrate in the past, discuss family celebrations, and talk about activities in progress. Finally, in the third etapa, we will: order in a restaurant, ask for a pay a restaurant bill, and talk about things to do in the city.

Unidad 3 San Juan, Puerto Rico
		Sol y sombra
		In this unit we will visit San Juan, Puerto Rico. In the first etapa we will: discuss ways to stay fit and healthy, make suggestions, and talk about daily routine and personal care. In the second etapa we will: dicuss beach activities, tell someone what to do, talk about chores, and say if something has already been done. Finally, in the third etapa, we will: describe time periods, talk about health and illness, and give advice.

Unidad 4 Madrid, España
		Un viaje
		In this unit we will visit Madrid, Spain. In the first etapa we will: talk about travel plans, persuade others, and describe rooms, furniture and appliances. In the second etapa we will: describe our cities and towns, make suggestions, and ask for and give directions. Finally, in the third etapa, we will: talk about shopping for clothes, ask for and give opinions, make comparisons, and discuss ways to save and spend money.
Unidad 5 San José, Costa Rica
		La naturaleza
		In this unit we will visit San José, Costa Rica. In the first etapa we will: describe geographic characteristics, make future plans, and talk about nature and the environment. In the second etapa we will: describe outdoor activities, describe the weather, make predictions, and talk about ecology. Finally, in the third etapa, we will: comment on conservation and the environment and talk about how we would solve world problems.
Unidad 6 Quito, Ecuador
		El mundo del trabajo
		In this final unit we will visit Quito, Ecuador. In the first etapa we will: discuss jobs and professions, describe people, places and things, and complete an application. In the second etapa we will: prepare for an interview, interview for a job, and evaluate situations and people. Finally, in the third etapa, we will: talk on the telephone, report on past, present and future events, and describe duties, people, and surroundings..
